In Summer Solace, the traditional landscape is dismantled and reimagined as a psychological terrain of memory and shelter. Measuring a commanding 48 x 48 inches, this work operates at the intersection of rigid geometry and atmospheric abstraction, constructing a sophisticated dialogue between the built environment and the organic world.

The composition is anchored by a subtle graphite grid—a structural cartography that cuts through a luminous, heavy cloud bank split by a solitary sun. Below, an ethereal pink horizon casts a twilight glow over an unpeopled, skeletal house frame. Flanked by stylized topiary trees and distant, minimal sailboats traversing a banded blue sea, the imagery evokes classical themes of solitude and transit.

Materially rich, the piece shifts from fluid, cellular acrylic applications to precise graphite linework and the deep texture of oil. Summer Solace is a rigorous yet deeply poetic visual poem that captures not a physical location, but the quiet sanctuary of the mind.
